After showing off her talents on the catwalks, model Jung Ho Yeon is about to wow everyone with her role in the Netflix series “Squid Game”.
Ho Yeon will bring to life the role of Kang Sae Byeok, a North Korean defector determined to secure a huge sum of money to achieve her goals and dreams, like a family home.
In an online interview with the press on Wednesday, the “Korea’s Next Top Model 4” finalist said she had freed up her schedule in the United States for the project.
“I was in New York preparing for Fashion Week, but the management company asked me to send a self-recorded audition video and I decided to participate,” she said. .
“I put all my energy into practicing acting, then director Hwang Dong Hyuk wanted to see me in person, so I flew to Korea straight from my schedule in New York, then I accepted the post, âshe added.
According to Dong Hyuk, it was Ho Yeon’s charisma that prompted him to choose her for the role.
âI auditioned a lot of actresses, but I couldn’t find the perfect match for them,â he said. âI got the tape all at once and seeing it, I thought, This is it,â he said.
âI felt it right away. The tone of voice, the glare, the aura – everything was perfect, âhe added.
After joining the modeling contest, Ho Yeon began to face more catwalks around the world, including those of the brands American Vogue, Louis Vuitton and Karl Lagerfeld.
“Squid Game” focuses on how 456 participants will compete in a dangerous snap to win 45.6 billion Korean won or nearly two billion pesos.
