Famous actor Stanley Tucci currently has his own show Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy airing on BBC Two, but the actor hasn’t always had the glamorous life of fame and fortune.
The star, known for his roles in films such as The Devil Wears Prada and The Hunger Games, sadly lost his first wife to breast cancer in 2009.

He was married to Kathryn Spath for 14 years before her death in 2009. The couple had three children together, twins Nicolo and Isabel and daughter Camilla, and also raised Kathryn’s children from her previous marriage.
Kathryn, also known as Kate, was a social worker and was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and later died aged 47.
During their marriage, the couple and their children lived mainly in New York and Kate also worked as a producer on television shows, including American Idol.
In a 2021 interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Stanley said he never stopped crying for his first wife, he said: “You never stop crying. It’s still hard after 11 years. C It’s always hard. And it always will be. But you can’t let it…and she would never want any of us to wallow in that heartbreak and let it take over our lives. would never want that.”
Stanley is now married to Felicity Blunt, the older sister of famous actress Emily Blunt, and it was through Emily that the couple met.
Emily co-starred with Stanley in the popular 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada and Stanley and Felicity first met at the film’s premiere.
The pair reconnected and then started dating in 2010 after reuniting at Emily’s wedding to John Krasinski. They married in 2012 and have two children together, Matteo and Emilia.
Felicity is a literary agent and the couple live with their children in London and recently Stanley credited Felicity with helping him battle tongue cancer in 2017.
In 2017, Stanley was diagnosed with tongue cancer after experiencing extreme pain in his jaw and underwent 35 days of radiotherapy and chemotherapy to recover.
He told People magazine, “Felicity’s unwavering care, affection and encouragement got me through this.” and said certain foods still tasted “weird” to him since the treatment.
Before Stanley’s acting career became successful, he was a model in the 1980s, including for the famous jeans brand Levi. He told GQ he was paid $300 for his work in the Levi’s ad.
The ad aired in the 1980s and in 1982 he landed his first Broadway role as a soldier in The Queen and the Rebels, which was his first acting role.
From there, Stanley appeared in smaller roles and his breakout role was as Richard Cross in the TV series Murder One.
Stanley won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie for his portrayal of Walter Winchell in the television series Winchell in 1998.
His other impressive film titles include Captain America: The First Avenger, starring the Hunger Games franchise from 2012-2015, Transformers Age of Extinction, and the 2017 live-action Beauty and the Beast.
He is set to star in the 2022 film I Wanna Dance with Somebody and recently starred in the 2021 film Jolt, alongside his new series Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy.
